The fishing was so good that by the second day we stopped taking pictures. One fish was bigger than the next, until the last day, my son caught a true monster trout. We were blessed with perfect weather during our stay, which made being in one of the most beautiful places on earth especially enjoyable. The guide was a skilled and patient and worked very hard for us, making sure we got to the places where the fish were. Because the river Baker is so clear we were able to sight cast most of the time, which I have never been able to do. Anita's cooking was a consistent delight. I looked forward to every meal. There was excellent variety, skillfully prepared, from the perfectly mixed pisco sours to the beautifully assembled strudels. She was also very responsive to my sons unpredictable tastes. I also enjoyed my conversations with management Manuel and Carlos. It adds to the experience when you appreciate that you are sharing in the passion of your hosts.

Thank you so much for an amazing fishing experience. The wide variety of fishing styles and technics made our first trip to Chile truly memorable and we can´t wait to return. From nymphing fishing with streamers, spring creeks, lakes, to dry fishing and drifting, we felt as if we had 5 different trips during our stay. Beautiful large rainbows here. The PBL staff and accomodations are superb, we felt always welcomed and well attended. The food was gourmet quality (Three course meals for lunch and dinner). My first visit to Chile has been full of surprises. The best lodge ever: ambience, food, warmth of the staff, and my guide. The Rio Baker was also a pleasant surprise. It is many rivers within a river. I will remember it also, as the river where I caught my biggest rainbow trout ever on a dry fly.
